we get a trailer a few weeks before the show airs: isaac and boyd running down the street to a brightly smiling erica; scott clasping derek’s shoulder and saying “now we’re brothers” before pulling him in for a hug; lydia and scott nodding at each other before one of them throws a molotov’s cocktail at peter and the other cuts him in half; stiles and the sheriff high fiving each other after catching a rogue omega and saving beacon hills from another threat; finally, all of them sitting at a diner late at night, the only ones there, eating curly fries and burgers. boyd kisses erica on the cheek and she smiles down into her cup of coke. scott has one of his arms slung over allison’s shoulders, head turned to isaac, his free hand ruffling isaac’s hair while the three of them laugh at some inside joke. lydia is on the phone with jackson arguing about where in europe they should meet up for their vacation this year. danny’s whispering something in ethan’s ear and making him spit out half of his drink. derek’s looking at everyone with a small smile on his face, almost transfixed and stiles nudges his knee against derek’s, smiling at him and squeezing derek’s hand under the table. the sheriff and melissa are sitting at a table nearby, fondly shaking their heads at everyone.

the fandom is ecstatic. everyone’s dreams seem to be coming true. we wait for the new season with warmth in our hearts and smiles on our faces. absolutely nothing hurts.

And then Derek wakes up, buried alive, and surrounded by hallucination inducing wolfsbane.

Everyone’s dead.

More and more children being arrested for trivial things…

#1 At one public school down in Texas, a 12-year-old girl named Sarah Bustamantes was recently arrested for spraying herself with perfume.

#2 A 13-year-old student at a school in Albuquerque, New Mexico was recently arrested by police for burping in class.

#3 Another student down in Albuquerque was forced to strip down to his underwear while five adults watched because he had $200 in his pocket. The student was never formally charged with doing anything wrong.

#4 A security guard at one school in California broke the arm of a 16-year-old girl because she left some crumbs on the floor after cleaning up some cake that she had spilled.

#5 One teenage couple down in Houston poured milk on each other during a squabble while they were breaking up. Instead of being sent to see the principal, they were arrested and sent to court.

#6 In early 2010, a 12-year-old girl at a school in Forest Hills, New York was arrested by police and marched out of her school in handcuffs just because she doodled on her desk. “I love my friends Abby and Faith” was what she reportedly scribbled on her desk.

#7 A 6-year-old girl down in Florida was handcuffed and sent to a mental facility after throwing temper tantrums at her elementary school.

#8 One student down in Texas was reportedly arrested by police for throwing paper airplanes in class.

#9 A 17-year-old honor student in North Carolina named Ashley Smithwick accidentally took her father’s lunch with her to school. It contained a small paring knife which he would use to slice up apples. So what happened to this standout student when the school discovered this? The school suspended her for the rest of the year and the police charged her with a misdemeanor.

#10 In Allentown, Pennsylvania a 14-year-old girl was tasered in the groin area by a school security officer even though she had put up her hands in the air to surrender.

#11 Down in Florida, an 11-year-old student was arrested, thrown in jail and charged with a third-degree felony for bringing a plastic butter knife to school.

#12 Back in 2009, an 8-year-old boy in Massachusetts was sent home from school and was forced to undergo a psychological evaluation because he drew a picture of Jesus on the cross.

#13 A police officer in San Mateo, California blasted a 7-year-old special education student in the face with pepper spray because he would not quit climbing on the furniture.

#14 In America today, even 5-year-old children are treated brutally by police. The following is from a recent article that described what happened to one very young student in Stockton, California a while back….

“Earlier this year, a Stockton student was handcuffed with zip ties on his hands and feet, forced to go to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and was charged with battery on a police officer. That student was 5 years old”.

#15 At one school in Connecticut, a 17-year-old boy was thrown to the floor and tasered five times because he was yelling at a cafeteria worker.

#16 A teenager in suburban Dallas was forced to take on a part-time job after being ticketed for using foul language in one high school classroom. The original ticket was for $340, but additional fees have raised the total bill to $637.

#17 A few months ago, police were called out when a little girl kissed a little boy during a physical education class at an elementary school down in Florida.

#18 A 6-year-old boy was recently charged with sexual battery for some “inappropriate touching” during a game of tag at one elementary school in the San Francisco area.

#19 In Massachusetts, police were recently sent out to collect an overdue library book from a 5-year-old girl.

I don’t even know how to react to this. Why on earth would there be any reason to arrest children and teenagers for these completely ridiculous reasons?

I personally think the most ridiculous thing is that kids and teens are getting sent to jail/arrested over stupid things like this, and yet when something like the two football players’ rape case comes up, they get sympathized with and given a way lighter sentence than they deserve.

When Stiles got a call that Derek was stuck in wolf form, he didn’t expect— this.

“The Alpha form is about trust,” says Lydia. She’s wearing glasses, which makes it a little hard for Stiles to concentrate because - glasses. Lydia. Stiles has weaknesses. “You have to give yourself over to the wolf in you to—”

“I get it,” Stiles says in a daze, holding a wolf pup. Which is Derek. You can tell by the inexplicably-colored eyes and the surly expression, which is constant, except when the pup tries to lick Stiles’ face.

It’s happening a lot more often than Stiles would’ve expected, which is roughly never.

“He has a face licking problem,” Erica says. “So we’ve decided you’re keeping him.”

Resistance is futile when everyone in the pack gangs up on you. Also, when Stiles puts him down Derek emits a high-pitched snarl that’s halfway into a whine, and Stiles caves.

“You’re walking him,” Stiles’ dad says when Stiles comes home with what is to all appearances a little black puppy with one floppy ear.

Stiles is pretty sure that would end in his disembowelment, but there’s no arguing with his dad. He waggles the leash halfheartedly. “Hail, Alpha. We who go to be mauled are trying to leash you.”

He ends up blinking a lot when Derek steps right into the collar, tugging the leash in his teeth.

Derek likes order. This is true of puppy-Derek as it is of the Alpha Stiles knows and resentfully fantasizes about. Every day, like clockwork, he presents Stiles with the leash and goes trotting about town. Derek takes the end of the leash in his teeth and sets the pace, slowing down when they pass by pack members’ houses.

Stiles has an uncomfortable impression he’s being shown off.

As a (mostly) human, Derek expresses his sulkiness by lurking around and being sarcastic. As a puppy, he just curls up into a dispirited ball and huffs.

It makes Stiles sad, and therefore execute his normal problem solution strategy: poke at the problem until something gives.

Derek’s non responsive for the first few pokes, after which he rolls over on his back and stares desolately up at the ceiling. Stiles never thought he’d have to apply the words existential angst to a puppy, but it seems apt.

“Come on,” Stiles says, cajoling. “You’re a puppy! Be happy! I can throw you a stick or something.”

Derek barely even growls. It’s making Stiles’ heart ache, and softens his next attempted poke into a sort of caress. Derek’s floppy ear perks up and he sighs.

The fur on Derek’s belly is really soft. Like, magically soft. Stiles buries his fingers in it and rubs. “How did you get it like that,” Stiles says, “is this what you were trying to hide with all the hair product? Your secret and terrible fluffitude?”

Derek yips.

“Fluffitude is too a word, shut up, notice I’m the one capable of human laguage here.” Stiles rubs with vigor. Derek’s hind leg starts to twitch. Stiles watches, entranced, keeping up the patter lest Derek realize how undignified he’s being and withdraw. “No, seriously, how are you so soft? Do you eat unicorns? You can tell me, I won’t judge. Much.”

At this point Derek’s muzzle falls unto Stiles’ thigh, and his tongue is lolling and leaving drool stains against Stiles’ pants, and his leg is rhythmically kicking Stiles in the hip, and Stiles does not care one bit.

“Augh,” Stiles says, defeated, and smushes his face into Derek’s deceivingly lush puppy belly. Derek’s tail thumps once, hitting Stiles in the neck.

I AM DESPERATELY OFFENDED.

I AM SO OFFENDED BY THIS.

HOW COULD YOU WRITE THIS. HOW DO YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT? HOW CAN YOU LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND LOOK YOURSELF IN YOUR BEAUTIFUL, DAZZLING FACE?

“What worries me about Yahoo! buying Tumblr is how it would choose to incorporate the website into its email and homepage features. One of the reasons why Tumblr is so unique is because it’s a niche market. By adding more users who don’t fit into this niche, it would make it more difficult for communities to develop within Tumblr, and Tumblr would have to change to accommodate these new users. Tumblr as a website is not the kind that you can sign up for in a day and be on your way. It is a website crafted so that you can immediately post but must spend several weeks, sometimes even months, to build a community. With new users who would not be willing to spend time growing a community, Tumblr would have to be changed, which would alienate its current users. Those users have spent time and effort to make Tumblr what it is today, and they are the ones who spend time on the website daily. A user who is checking onto Tumblr because it’s attached to their homepage is not going to be as strong of a user nor as dedicated. By changing the website to suit this new user, you would lose the strong users while building an undedicated usership.

To any website that would think of buying Tumblr, they must understand that it is a website that cannot be changed to make it more user friendly to a casual blogger. I think that many Tumblr users would be less worried about a buy-out if they were promised that their communities and ways of using Tumblr would not be changed. No one is going to mind Yahoo! buying the website and gaining a few extra million dollars per year from the minimal advertising; what we will be upset with is if a company like Yahoo! then changes the website to increase casual users and decrease dedicated users. Yahoo! would gain nothing by losing this “cool” group of bloggers in an age group they so desperately want to reach, so they must cater to these individuals by leaving the website exactly as is.” - houseoftombombadil

As much as is does sound like a load of bullshit for someone to buy Tumblr, it’s a possibility. I Personally think it should stay independent and I hope David Karp keeps a hold of it like his own child. Or we make enough noise to where such major changes (if bought) will not happen. I would hate to see Tumblr turned into an advertising dump.

We’re not a ‘hip fad group’ to be marketed to. I hate the fact that’s all we look like to businesses in the end.

Yahoo will do to Tumblr what Six Apart did to Livejournal

I totally agree with how advertising could be bad for Tumblr’s current users. Yahoo’s obviously expecting returns if they’re willing to pay the rumored price of over a million dollars, and unless they increase ads and tie ins with their own services such as their mail and “news” they’re going to lose money. So it seems pretty obvious that there are going to be some changes if Yahoo, or even Facebook which is also rumored to be interested in buying it out at the last minute actually does. Those could be having to log in with a Yahoo or Facebook account, or a larger amount of ads and sponsored posts. But whatever it will be, it seems like they’ll care more about profits and larger numbers of users than the already exiting users.

So that leaves us with the question of what we can do about it - here are a couple of my ideas, but feel free to add on!

Contact them - This may seem obvious, but it’s a good place to start. I’d suggest commenting on their facebook page. Since its public they’ll probably watch it more closely than some email account, and it will get more attention.

Get AdBlock Plus - This blocks ads and prevents the site owner from collecting revenue from ad views. More importantly, post publicly and maybe even contact Yahoo saying you’re doing it in protest of their attempt to capitalize off of Tumblr.

Content advertisers will hate - Nobody wants to advertise on a site that publicly denounces ads, or consumerism. Or even easier than ranting on these subjects, just post a lot of porn ;) I am actually being serious, most companies won’t want to be associated with it. Tagging it with #yahoo could also make a point..

It’s such a big decision to buy out a company that I really believe if we make a big enough protest against it they might reconsider. So if you want Tumblr to stay how it is, go let them know!
